Dereck & Nyasha Personal Details
How it started: I grew up in Zimbabwe. My parents were Christians and highly used of God in the area of healing. My father comes from a single parent set up and life has been full of segregation from the other extended families because of that scenario. I was brought up from a Christian family background and started playing an accordion in church services when I was the age of 14 and singing with my brothers. I received the gift of the Holy Spirit when I was the age of 11 and got baptized in water after receiving the Holy Spirit.
After finishing my high school, I moved to a college in South Africa for further studies and obtained a Diploma in Business Management and Administration. Came back to Zimbabwe and worked under the supervision of a Whiteman and gained a lot of experience in commercial farming and processing of maize corn, rice and wheat. I got married to Nyasha in 1998 who is also from the same denomination and grew up from a Christian family background. Her father died 1996 before I got married to Nyasha and her mother died 1999 after our marriage. God has been really faithful to us and blessed us with two lovely and intelligent kids namely Tanaka (9) and Shammah (3).
When I was growing, I had great passion for the work of God. I thought to myself that the only way to achieve that is to become a Pastor and this is the mentality of most Africans. However God had another plan for me as He was the one calling me for His Kingdom ministry. I got connected to other Ugandans who asked me to join them in Commercial farming and processing of agricultural produce and that is how I came to Uganda.
In Uganda I came across Paul and Pam Hunter who are ministers in the kingdom of God and were conducting a next generation leadership seminar. This is where God confirmed my calling again and reviewed that you do not need to be a Pastor to advance his kingdom. But you can also advance the kingdom of God when you are a businessman. So from that institute, my focus drifted and started advancing the kingdom of God from a business point of view to fulfill what the lord called me to do.
Impact from releasing Kings: I went to America and met John Garfield and Harold Eberly, (Authors of Releasing Kings for Ministry in the Marketplace), attended a conference hosted by Don Artkin, George Kouri and others and I was accelerated in the passion of birthing kings in the business world to advance the kingdom of God. This led to the birth of Kingdom Harvest Ministries when I came back.
Personal Passion: I have the desire to transform the mindset of my fellow Africans from that of being a receiver to a giver. To help other businessman understand that they are kings who rule in cities everyday through their wealth and the Priests are in churches serving as shepherds in the household of God for nursing, teaching, encouraging and equipping the saints. Now the Kings should know that they are to produce wealth and share with the priests such that God will continue to bless the work of their hands and the priest shall minister without starving. So the Kings need priests and priests need kings for advancing the kingdom of God.
Personal Benefit: To work while it is day and to fulfill my obedience to what God called me to do and my reward is with him. Revelations 22:12.
Value for others: I am an open channel to help people fulfill their wishes and calling in life and get connected to others of the same vision.
Business Potential (upside): Uganda is still undeveloped in quite a number of things in the aspect of commercialization and industrialization so I am in the process of advancing the commercialization and industrialization of Uganda and other African countries. This will create employment and lead us into enjoying what we have worked for with our own hands than having an orphan tendency hence the gospel of salvation will be spreading at the same time.
Complexities, failures (downside): I only use what I have at a time but If I could get other people (kings) or investors who are interested to partner with me in this cause for profit making and kingdom expansion are much welcome.
Vision for the Kingdom: I am looking for other businessman with the kingdom mindset to join me transform the face of Africa.
