Dream Builders Network
Kennan & Lyn
Personal
How
it started: Kennan is the oldest of three children, born
in Indiana and raised in Melborne, FL. His father was a guidance
counselor in a junior high. Kennan was raised in church and through his
adult life has held virtually every responsibility available from Sunday
school teacher, to youth leader, worship leader and board member. He now
describes himself as a recovering Pharisee because he previously thought
of himself as a performer for God. Now he sees God as the conductor and
believers as instruments in a greater orchestra that benefits others. He
wrote a poem (The
Artist and the Audience) that summarized his freedom from
performance orientation. The link also provides more detail about Dream
Builders Network. Kennan also made a list of the 7 habits of highly
gracious people during his recovery process:
1. Love myself
even when I mess up.
2. Have the
freedom to say "no" to the plans and agendas of others.
3. Have the free
to express my innermost thoughts appropriately without
fear of judgment.
4. To feel God's
love and forgiveness through my entire body, holding no
guilt back.
5. Forgive others
of all wrongs against me and remove blame.
6. Be open about
my faults.
7. Share God's
grace with others.
Kennan got his MBA and worked for Darden Restaurants (Red Lobster and
Olive Garden) for 20 years. For most of that period he was the director
of marketing for Red Lobster. He maintained his church involvement in
the singles ministry and started a city-wide Bible Study in Orlando in
the mid 1990’s. He led worship for about 1000 people every Tuesday
night for a number of years.
In 2002 he wised-up and married Lyn Faust, his best friend. Their
relationship started in a Sunday School class setting. He had known her
previously for 9 years. He credits Lyn with being a living example of
God’s grace in his life. He finally realized that if he wanted to
experience more of God’s grace, he should ask Lyn to be his lifetime
partner. And he has never looked back. As God would have it, they have
been blessed with two beautiful children, Gracelyn (4) and Robbie (3).
In case you were wondering, Kennan says, “Gracelyn got her name from the
idea that she is God’s grace to me through Lyn: Gracelyn.” Prior to
being a stay-at-home mom, Lyn was a first grade teacher at The First
Academy in Orlando.
Kennan started Dream Builders
Network for men to facilitate personal vision in a small group
setting. He's tapped a nerve in the body of Christ that helps men get in
touch with their personal destiny. Most recently Kennan has started
Brand Catalyst Partners, a marketing consulting business that allows him to
combine his business and ministry in cultivating the corporate and
personal dreams of CEO's and corporate leaders.
Personal Passion: Kennan enjoys being an idea person, a dream
catalyst, motivator and strategic organizer. His first love is to get
together with a group of guys and help them dream. His professional life
in marketing is a natural vent for his creativity. He helps people
"awaken ideas" that bring their spirit to life. He's a natural champion
for the dreams of others
Personal Benefit: Kennan sees the big picture as
connecting with the destiny you were created for. He likes to ask the
question, "What promise did God make to the world when he made you?"
For it is by grace you have
been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the
gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are
God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which
God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph 2:8-10 NIV
"No eye has seen, no ear has
heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who
love him" 10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. 1 Cor
2:9-10 NIV
Kennan loves the light bulb
moments when those he works with catch a glimpse of their calling or
dream; connecting with the concept of being used by God to bless people and
being part of something bigger - building the Kingdom.
Value
to others: Brand Catalyst Partners helps business leaders define
their brand in a contagious way by asking the question, "What's the
highest brand promise you can deliver on?" It's really the same question
he asks in the context of the Dream Builders Network, "What promise did God make the
world when he made you?" He's bridged the functions of his business and
ministry. He simply helps people connect with their God-given purpose in
life.
Business Potential (upside and downside): Kennan's
consulting business led to a contract with a popular $300 million
restaurant chain. He functioned as the chief marketing officer for the
CEO who is a believer. As they worked through identifying the most
contagious brand issues for the corporation, the conversation lapsed
into the obvious connection with the CEO's personal ministry in the
corporation to his 8000 employees and managers. "What is your promise to
your customers?" logically connects with "What is God's promise to you?"
Even though the economy is slow right now the CEO felt God's hand on him to survive
the challenges and prosper in the future.
Vision for the Kingdom: Kennan's vision is to multiply his
impact on men that are a little bored with church and need to connect
with their personal and/or corporate vision. He's really breaking the
barrier of dualism between secular and spiritual... helping businesses
and individuals identify the largest promise they can
deliver and become contagious in the process. Kennan's goal is to be the
catalyst that facilitates the incredible dynamic that occurs when we
connect with God's greater purpose and our own heart's desire.
The second important dynamic
in the Dream Builders Network is the strategic need for Kings to fellowship and
network in small groups around their unique calling. It's a need that
isn't met on Sunday morning that Kings are thirsting for.
Impact from Releasing Kings: Kennan saw a scriptural
foundation for the things he's been teaching in the Dream Builders
Network. He
identified with the distinctions in function the book draws between
prophets, priests, and Kings. We both realized that building dreams and
Releasing Kings are the same vision.
How
Can Kennan Help You: Kennan is particularly good and helping
define a contagious brand for companies that sell a product or service.
He can help a corporate vision focus on competitive advantages.

In the very same way Kennan is
very good at personal coaching, particularly in the context of the dream
builders network for the last five years. There are currently about 15 groups
consisting of 5-20 participants each. The results have been amazing and
the written and video testimonies on the website are wonderful examples
of dreams being built. Dream Builders Network hosts large events to help people
start groups in their own cities. The last event in Orlando was attended
by 800 men.
