Mike's
Background:
Mike was raised in the Detroit, Michigan area, in a
Catholic home. His father was a paint contractor. Mike had a
supernatural experience during a vigil as an altar boy at the age of 10,
which was his first real experience with a living God. At 19, he was
drafted for the Vietnam War, and he and Jan were married while on a
leave in 1970. Mike finished college after his military service, with a
BBA in Business and Finance. Jan graduated with a BA in English and
Education and a MA in Guidance and Counseling. She has taught school
most of her career, including homeschooling their four children when
they were young.
Mike has a broad business background, including working for
a CPA firm; working in management as a foreman at a steel company, and
for Ford Motor Company; and starting, or being named as a corporate
executive of, five additional companies, including an advertising and
marketing company, an attorney/financial services company, a
telecommunications company, a company called Environmental Potentials,
and one called Son Bright. In the last four years, he has also learned
how to trade stocks.
In
1976, Mike’s brother invited Mike and Jan to a charismatic renewal
service in a Catholic church. They were initially unsure about speaking
in tongues, prayer for the sick, and hands raised in worship. However,
during that move of God, about 30 people were being saved at the church
every week, and it wasn’t long before both Jan and Mike came to the
Lord, also. Mike was quickly given elder-like responsibilities in the
church and hunger for God’s word grew quickly in both he and his wife.
They left the Catholic Church and eventually started a church in their
home that grew to 100 people, which forced them to get a building. Mike
was the senior pastor of Joy Christian Fellowship for 18 years. He often
organized city-wide events out of a strong administrative gifting and a
heart for evangelism. He was given prophetic words from a series of
others pointing to a call to accumulate great wealth. In 1996, he turned
over his church to an associate and began to seek this “Kingly” calling.
Personal Passion: Mike’s passion is
people. His motivation is evangelistic and both he and Jan have a strong
gift of giving with a hunger to fully supply the need of the saints and
all. He once gave away their house, and Jan gave their wedding rings to
a missionary in need. They love to minister to the lost and supply their
need for salvation. Mike is very spontaneous, yet strongly
administrative, and able to multi-task. They both love to spend time in
prayer and intercession.
Vision for the Kingdom: Near
the end of 2005 Mike felt the leading of the Lord to shut down the
company he was running and get before HIM. So in January of 2006, Mike
and Jan asked others to pray for a release of the calling in their
lives. Mike also began fasting, and the two of them prayed for God to
open doors to accomplish His will for them and others. Over the next 40
days the ministry God has laid out for them would involve networking
with partners who have a real heart and calling for giving. The first
goal of this group is to become personally debt free, prosperous, and
equipped to be generous. The second goal is to be able to meet the
needs of others, on an individual, local, national, and perhaps even
someday, international basis. Lastly, Mike believes God would have them
“compel” people to come into the Kingdom through nationwide evangelistic
outreaches that will fill stadiums throughout the US.
How this
will be accomplished:
In recent years, the Lord has allowed Mike to develop a market place
strategy which will be the avenue through which great wealth will come.
Many people are frightened when they think of investing or trading in
the stock market, as perhaps they should be. However, God has laid out
an incredibly simple plan involving short term investing and
trading which, when followed as a group (a trading community)
takes the fear of failure and uncertainty away. The stock market is a
great storehouse (Proverbs 13:22); the wealth of the nations is there,
and the Lord knows how to multiply it for use in the Kingdom. Partners
need no previous training or experience in the stock market, just a
heart for giving and a measure of faith… Do you sense the Spirit of
God to respond? Could this be the means to fund the God-given vision you
have?
Value to
Others:
Mike’s ministry is on the supply side, “Freely you have received, freely
give.” He operates in a very practical, results-oriented approach to
helping people and he is a capable teacher; able to disciple others into
the experience of his message. CWT currently has 136 partners that Mike
is helping to move into the Ministry of Distributor; a term taken
from Nehemiah 13:13.
I put Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and a Levite named
Pedaiah in charge of the storerooms and made Hanan son of Zaccur,
the son of Mattaniah, their assistant, because these men were
considered trustworthy. They were made responsible for
distributing the supplies to their brothers.
Neh 13:13
NIV
Business Potential (upside):
Mike’s goal is to use exponential financial growth through his partners
to jointly convert hundreds of millions of dollars into ministry,
supplying the needs of people locally and ultimately for local and
nationwide evangelism.
Complexities, failures (downside):
Mike is networking with partners that have a real heart and calling for
giving. Part of the challenge is finding the right people with gifts of
giving, mercy, helps, and administration that won’t be tempted by greed
when moving large sums of money into the Kingdom.
Impact from Releasing Kings: Mike
viewed the materials on the Releasing Kings website and saw CWT as a
similar vision with remarkable synergism, putting feet to the message in
the book. Kings and Distributors are largely overlapping ministries whom
God is using to expand His Kingdom.
How Can Mike Help You
- Mike believes that God has already prepared the hearts of those that
God has called to be in the Ministry of Distributor (see Nehemiah
13:13 NIV) or Giving. They are simply waiting for the plan to be
revealed, so they can be released into it (read 2 Corinthians 9:8-15).
