See the details on our conference page.   Easter - Dreams Come True Too good to believe - After the resurrection, Jesus' disciples had trouble believing that he was really alive. Somehow they had been blinded to the possibility of life after the cross. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.  Luke 24:11 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened.Luke 24:30-31 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. Lu 24:45 It's interesting to see how Jesus opened their minds so that they could "see" the truth of what was happening. The implications of the resurrection are difficult for us to grasp as well. We get so used to disappointment, it's hard to allow ourselves to embrace the possibility of a dream come true. Here are three areas of blessing that come to us through Christ. Life - Some have the ability to really enjoy and savor life itself. It's the gift of God. They are not immune from failure, but there is a foundational optimism that has roots in the resurrection. Some believers are just "unsinkable" no matter what the circumstance. They live in the life of Christ and they have an ability to connect with abundance... more joy, more fun, more finances, and more fruit. Their cup overflows with those same things in a way that blesses other people. It's fun to be around them; their spirit is contagious. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:12 NIV Dreams come true - The language of Christianity often extols the life of a servant. We obey God, we serve God, we heed his commands, we're part of His army. I think it's healthy for young believers to lay down their lives and surrender to His majesty. The problem with being a servant is that you aren't designed to stay there. Servants get tired of serving and give themselves "breaks" every once in while. We know that process as sin... live faithfully for some period until we get bored then go on a binge doing what feels good for a while. Been there? Done that? We all have. After some level of maturity the Lord comes to us and invites us to a place of friendship. Listen to this passage. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit — fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other. John 15:14-17 (see also Jn 14:12-14, Jn 15:7-8, Jn 16:22-24) Servant's simply "can't see" the possibility of asking for their heart's desires. They believe it's more spiritual to be in neutral and have no desires of their own. Here's the truth; "life" in Christ begins when we graduate from a religious servant to a practical friend of God. In a word, the difference is permission to dream. The big picture has been made know to friends and we have the freedom to dream about our role. What's totally amazing is that our role is already mapped into the desires of our heart. Servants serve in opposition their own desires; friends live out their hearts desires; Big difference! The Kingdom is built by people that can embrace the desire of their heart and ask "whatever." Listen to the Psalms. O LORD, the king rejoices in your strength. How great is his joy in the victories you give! 2 You have granted him the desire of his heart and have not withheld the request of his lips. Ps 21:1-2 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.    Ps 37:4 Wealth - If you allow yourself to become God's friend and embrace your dreams, you will soon run into a stark reality. Dreams cost money. Your ministry costs money. Here's the good news. Jesus already accounted for the price tag associated with our destiny. Listen to Paul explain it to the Corinthians: For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. 2 Cor 8:9 NIV Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2 Cor 9:10-11 NIV My eyes are open - I can see the possibility of abundant life, exploring my personal dream, and the availability of God's provision. Once I see those things I can use my faith to make them a practical reality. It's like possessing your land; it takes work and warfare. But, if you know your inheritance has your name on it, it's not that hard after all.
