Conference - The conference in Sebring finished up yesterday. It was a party to get to see hearts released "live" again. I love this stuff. conference page.   Pick Up Your Life Sweet Surrender - Most of us had a common experience when we first met Jesus. We we're on the run trying to do things our own way when the Lord intervened and got our attention. Our first act was to surrender to his majesty and experience the embrace of his forgiveness. Feeling the weight of sin lift off our lives was and is wonderful. The experience of being welcomed into the body of Christ to taste the love of other brothers and sisters was and is a a sweet and joyfully, tearful delight. For many believers that's the theological end of the road... from there its off to heaven. I want to suggest that a time comes when God does show us more and a different kind of adventure begins. Listen to the way Jesus put it: The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life — only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father." John 10:17-18 NIV The first foundation is to learn to lay down our lives and seek the Kingdom first. That dynamic gives our hearts a glimpse of the Father's heart for people... and ministry, and increase, and what He's doing in the seven mountains. Then a switch comes! He invites us to pick our lives back up again and move from surrender to initiative. We switch from asking a lot of questions (What should I do? What is your will? When should I proceed?) to being asked a question by God. Listen to the way John put it. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. John 16:22-24 NIV Start the fun! - Maturity is digging into your heart's desires and making them reality. That's how God builds the Kingdom. We thought as servant's he would tell us every detail and we would just obey His promptings and things like revivals would happen. We missed the sweet spot of our relationship with Jesus. It's a volunteer army and maturity is showing some initiative to make your dream come true. We're not just soldiers, we are created in God's image to be friends that share his vision to bless the nations, spoil the enemy and and build the kingdom. It's Christmas all year long. In significant way, you get to choose your destiny.... and if you don't show that level of initiative, you'll miss a portion of your calling. If we get religious and spend our lives doing what we don't enjoy, at the end we'll regret missing out on our heart's desire. I want to suggest we would also have missed the will of God. His will is found in our heart's desire. Waiting for guidance won't get you to this level of relationship. The Holy Spirit is is asking you the same question his asked Solomon. At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you." 1 Kings 3:5 NIV In some ways it's a frightening question because the unwritten reality is that it implies a level of responsibility and authority that we didn't know we have as Kings. But, its clearly a theme that you and I can get excited about. We're declaring open season on Christmas and handing out permission slips for believers to start having fun and stop taking themselves quite so seriously. The God of the universe is interested in the desires of your heart!
