Get Releasing Kings
Ukraine - I'm off to the Ukraine
with
David Tinney and Poul Dalgaard for 10 days just before
Thanksgiving. Since 2001, David has done over 100 business seminars
in the Ukraine so he knows his way around. We're translating
Desire to Destiny into Russian so we can have it available
to help release Kings. If you have a business concept that would
work in the Ukraine, let us know. Our goal is to turn the theology
into practice and network new opportunties.
Got Rhythm?
Learning Seasons
- One of the central tenets of Releasing Kings is learning to flow with
our own heart's desires - yes it's Biblical. We all go through seasons
when the thing we focus on seems to move away from us instead of closer.
In fact, the shortest distance to our goals is often the long way
around! Most of us have been taught that our carnality leaves us with a
natural tendency to pursue selfish interests. That's certainly possible.
We really can end up on the wrong team... actually resisting God's plan.
But if it is from God, you
will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves
fighting against God." Acts 5:39 NIV
"Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; but on
whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust." Luke 20:18 NASU
I want to suggest
that God has done a work in our hearts that normally has us in a
position of desiring His will. Most of our issues in receiving and
giving the blessings of God center around an understanding of timing,
seasons, and methodology in the Kingdom. Let's talk about them.
Methodology - Faith is all about
doing that which is beyond our natural strength. We sow in the natural;
we are faithful, diligent, hard working, consistent, patient, etc. But,
there really is an ingredient of the Holy Spirit in everything we do. So
while we labor in the natural we always keep one eye on the Kingdom
because we expect the Lord to multiply our efforts. We must have goals
and work toward them but we often travel a circuitous route to get there
because of enemy interference and the intervention of the Father. Life
isn't all that predictable.
Said another way, "We
have goals and desires but they are really second in importance to
seeking the Kingdom." Everything we desire is added, but it often comes
via an indirect route of seeking the Kingdom first. Finally, the things
we desire are really a subset of what God desires for the Kingdom.
"And why do you worry about
clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or
spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor
was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the
grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into
the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we
drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all
these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well. Matt 6:28-34 NIV
So what is
specifically different about our methodology? We live and work toward
our goals, but we hold our plans to obtain them loosely because the Lord
is often opening new doors or upgrading our desires to something better.
We are like the lilies that naturally grow toward maturity with little
effort or worry. We are the good soil that naturally produces the will
of God. We work with diligence, but we don't sweat or fret. In fact we
delight in great expectations of success and fruitfulness. In failure we
resurrect, in shipwrecks we catch a plank to shore, amid obstacles we
create solutions. We live in the real expectation that we will naturally
gravitate toward bearing fruit in the Kingdom.
"This is what the kingdom of
God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day,
whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he
does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain —
first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29
As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the
harvest has come." Mark 4:26-29 NIV

Part 2.
Timing and seasons - The first level of
being Kingly is to understand the times and seasons of what God is doing
and flow with those... we get in rhythm with God and dance to the music
that's playing. Instead of resisting the present theme we learn to flow
with it. For example, individual believers are destined by God for a
great work. It can be frustrating to have a glimpse of the future and to
content ourselves in preparation, waiting for a battle that has yet to
begin.
The second role that
Kings play in times and seasons is "changing them." Mary is my favorite
example.
When the wine was gone,
Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine." 4 "Dear woman,
why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come." 5
His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
...This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana
in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their
faith in him. John 2:3-11 NIV
When the wine ran
out, Jesus' timing for his ministry was still in the future. However,
Mary had enough pull with God to change that, and Jesus' ministry began
with her request. Pretty amazing, isn't it? We do flow with what the
Father is doing to build the Kingdom. But he also flows with us. Listen
to the heartbeat of how the Kingdom works...
For the LORD God is a sun
and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he
withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Ps 84:11 NIV
I tell you the truth, anyone
who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even
greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And
I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring
glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and
I will do it. John 14:12-14 NIV
The Kingdom is built
at God's initiative (we know that). But it is also built at our
initiative. We're just learning the significance of that. God delights
in Kings who work with him to build the Kingdom - He even lets us lead
once in a while.
It's like teaching
your teenager to drive. They read the driver's manual then get behind
the wheel under dad's watchful eye. Then they pass the test and get a
license. Then they drive themselves. Who among us didn't dent a car
after we got the license and supposedly knew how? It wasn't the end of
the world, was it?
It's time to hear the
music, get the rhythm, and drive the car! Jesus gave you the license on
the cross.

Netherlands. In France, copies can be obtained from
Editions Menor or
Librairie Chretienne CLC. The
Title in French is
“Libération
des Rois pour le ministère dans le monde du travail”. Cees is also the
guy who made the Dutch translation possible - available through his

PS: I want to recommend some
follow-up reading.
Who is God by Harold Eberle provides the best explanation of
a more relational view of God. It's must reading that connects our perception
of God with everyday life.
Releasing Kings for Ministry in the Marketplace takes that
foundation into marketplace ministry and the entrepreneurial nature
of Kings. Fruit in the marketplace naturally springs out of sound
doctrine.
Desire to Destiny - Takes the foundation and marketplace
ministry and puts them in the context of seven practical keys or
stages of growth you can apply in your own life.
You're invited into the
vision to release Kings; communicate the message, make the money, and do
the mission.
-
The Message - Our first goal is to
get the Releasing Kings message into the hands of the messengers that
will carry it... do it, preach it, teach it, example it.
-
The Money - The second goal is to
help Kings break out of poverty by networking them with practical
opportunities to prosper. We want to introduce them to the right people,
the right opportunity, and the right financial approach.
-
The Mission - Network Kings with
opportunities to mix business and missions. Accomplish the great
commission through the marketplace and occupy the
Seven mountains of:
business, media, arts & entertainment, education and government
in addition to the church.
