Releasing Kings
- Beyond Impartation and
Revelation to Results
Impartation
–
We all get saved by revelation and impartation. That’s how we receive
the Holy
Spirit, divine healing, and gifts of the Spirit. That’s how Paul did it
in
Romans 1:11. Sudden change in our lives is real and exciting. Worship,
the
prophetic, the presence of God, quickened verses, personal revelation,
dreams,
miracles… experiencing God brings sudden and permanent change. Ask
Jacob after
that encounter with the angel. Ask anyone who is saved. Ask yourself.
We’ve
all been blessed to experience those quantum leaps – we love them so
much, we
wish everything came that way!
I long to see
you so that
I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—
Rom 1:11 NIV
From
motivation to results
– My roots are in a prophetic version of
the charismatic movement. I, and my brothers and sisters in this
stream,
appreciate encounters with God. And, we think we’re pretty cool… on the
frontiers of the Kingdom, releasing Kings, etc. So as I’m traveling
around the
Ukraine in November and Russia in 1995, I was always pleasantly
surprised to
arrive at some remote outpost and find a Baptist church that had been
there for
years; God’s sense of humor I suppose.
As
valid as impartation, revelation and God encounters
are, there is more. You see, those things are the foundation.
God-experiences can
motivate us and change us but they do not, in themselves, produce
fruit. I wish
someone could have laid hands on me for an engineering degree. I was
saved and
spirit-filled and they wouldn’t award a degree until I took four years
of calculus, chemistry,
and engineering mechanics.
I
got the revelation that I could be a King, but
finding the right investments and learning to trade has taken several
years
before results began to show up. The revelation and impartation came at
conferences that thrilled my heart with "motivation" but the
implementation felt like going to
college and required "work."
Fruit
– The results or fruit of impartation, revelation and encounters with
God are the
beginning; the foundation. But, the results “feel” like they come about
as fast
as grass grows ~ that’s about how fast fruit grows, come to think of
it!
Here is a list of stuff that
doesn’t come
in a moment through the laying on of hands.
Rom 5:3
perseverance,
character, hope
Gal 5:22 love,
joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control
2 Pet 1:5
goodness,
knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness,
love
Now
listen to Peter explain how we get to fruitfulness,
effectiveness and productivity in the Kingdom:
For if you
possess these
qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being
ineffective and
unproductive… 2 Peter 1:8 NIV
Get
it? –
Impartation and revelation get us started, but things like integrity
and
persistence and wisdom and mentoring get us across the finish line. How
did
Jesus disciple? He laid the foundation with an impartation. All twelve
disciples were saved in a dramatic encounter similar to our own
salvation experience. After that, discipleship
(then and now) goes a little slower - something like this:
- The
master tells us how (we ask questions
and get confused)
- The
master shows us how (we say that looks
easy enough and can’t wait to try)
- The
master watches us do it (we screw it up,
give up, and try again while the master “patiently” points out areas to
improve)
- We
do it by ourselves (and check back with
the master periodically for adjustments)
- We
do it by ourselves and prosper
- We
become masters ourselves and start to
disciple others
- Return
to step one
Becoming
Kings in the Kingdom
– There is a level of revelation and
impartation that can help you get launched down the exciting path of
your
personal destiny in the mountain of your calling. Too often when things
go
wrong we want to get prayer, have a revelation or go to another
conference and
encounter God when, in reality, we are simply at step 3 in the process
of getting
to our results. I want to suggest that God himself designed the
discipleship
process and He is not likely to let you skip third grade. If he does,
be sure
and write me back so I can adjust this newsletter!
The
“one thing”
– We believers miss out on results for one
primary reason. It’s not because we need an encounter with God –
although we
have in the past and will again in the future. The one thing we most
often miss
is finding a “master” that will mentor us in the area of our vocational
and marketplace
ministry calling. Your pastor / apostle can get you started, but if you
want to
be plumber you have to serve as a journeyman under a real plumber who
shows
you how. Wherever your dream and the will of God lead you, find the
mentor who has done it before and can show you how. Impartation,
revelation, pastors,
apostles, and prophecies will not replace that person in your life. He
or she
is a gift of God that can take you to real results… you enjoy what
you’re doing, it
blesses other people, finances flow in abundance, you know how to turn
money into ministry to bless the nations, and you can't wait to show
someone else how to do it.
Small
Groups - Sharing and praying with other Kings on a peer
level is a great way get help on your Kingly journey. It's even sweeter
if a mentor is present and you share a common discipleship process.
We've shared some personal experience at this site: Start
Your Own Group.
Caution
– I see believers make two mistakes in this
area.
1)
We get the revelation and never implement it. If we
never pursue our heart’s desire we eventually lose the “revelation” to
become a
King (Mk 13:12-15)... ever hearing but never understanding.
2)
We jump into a business, investment, or career change based on
revelation and don’t wait for the wisdom that comes through a mentor.
We do have permission from God; we don't have the wisdom to be
successful. If we don’t
find a mentor, shipwreck is usually the consequence. Revelation and
impartation via sermons
will motivate you, but it takes a mentor with experience to lead you
into
implementing your dream to get results and become profitable.

PS: I want
to recommend some follow-up reading.
Who
is God by Harold Eberle provides the best
explanation of a more relational view of God. It's must reading that
connects our perception of God with everyday life.
Releasing
Kings for Ministry in the Marketplace takes that
foundation into marketplace ministry and the entrepreneurial nature of
Kings. Fruit in the marketplace naturally springs out of sound doctrine.
Desire
to Destiny - Takes the foundation and marketplace
ministry and puts them in the context of seven practical keys or stages
of growth you can apply in your own life.
You're
invited into the vision
to release Kings; communicate the message, make the money,
and do the mission.
-
The Message
- Our first goal is to get the Releasing Kings message into the hands
of the messengers that will carry it... do it, preach it, teach it,
example it.
-
The Money -
The second goal is to help Kings break out of poverty by networking
them with practical opportunities to prosper. We want to introduce them
to the right people, the right opportunity, and the right financial
approach.
-
The Mission
- Network Kings with opportunities to mix business and missions.
Accomplish the great commission through the marketplace and occupy the Seven mountains
of: business, media, arts & entertainment, education, family
and government in addition to the church.
