Your Kingdom come - I saw
something in the eyes of
God’s people this weekend that was very profound. One of the keys in my
liberation from servant to King was understanding the difference
between church
and Kingdom. If those two are the same thing in my theology, I
naturally spend
all my energy on church growth. “Church is everything” was the reason I
became
a pastor. If the only thing God is doing is “church,” then the highest
calling
for any believer is staff ministry. That’s why many believers
(including me)
felt the need to compete for the pastor’s job. We want to do our best
for God.
If you don’t happen to have a competitive type-A personality like mine,
you may
just resign yourself to feeling left out of God’s most important work
(church).
It’s a painful feeling. If you do decide to become a pastor or target a
church
ministry in your heart, and you’re really a King, like me, that can be
awkward
as well… and painful. The “new” – Fortunately,
my new theological
paradigm is that the saints are equipped in the church, and that the
work of
the ministry for Kings is outside the walls of the church. Kings are
having
fun, making money, and loving people. In fact, those three ingredients
are way
more exciting than sitting in a pew and wishing for a role in the
Sunday
service. We’re going to have to protect the role of pastors to make
sure they
are incentivized to continue planting and growing healthy churches. We
need to
give them double honor, encourage them and make sure they are
successful. I’m
more thankful for pastors than ever… because I don’t want their job!
This
Kingly stuff is too much fun. The Conference in
Warsaw was at The
Storehouse Church –
perhaps the largest charismatic church in Poland. Pastor Andrzej and
Pastor
Maja (his wife) were perfect examples of Kings and Priests working
together.
They had paved the way with 24-hour prayer, and invited business men
from in
and outside their church. I’ve never ministered in such an anointing.
It went
far beyond a conference. Hearts were ignited, ~ 40 people were saved.
There was
a least one miraculous healing of tumors in a neck… Everything had a
prophetic
tone. We had dinner Sunday afternoon with two couples who asked if we
could pray.
It went on for two hours (this
is Tibor’s wife Darota at Robert and Monica’s beautiful
home)… We laughed,
cried, and saw them all filled with the Holy Spirit; Kings already very
successful in the business world who have only been saved about six
months. Words
are inadequate to articulate the significance in my own heart and in
the
Kingdom consequences for Warsaw. Some pictures are here.
The pastors laid the
foundation in prayer and in
preparation of the hearts of the people. Andrzej was already building
relationships with Kings who were unsaved before the conference. David

– our
Russian web site from last year’s conferences in Ukraine. I’m writing
this from
Dnipropetrovsk, site of this week’s conference. We’ve also converted
the slides
from English to Russian. What’s next for Warsaw? The
church equips, the
conference helps launch, but the real stuff of consequence is in the
marketplace. Kings having fun, making money, and loving people… turning
a city
upside down. Polish Kings are about to show themselves strong and do
exploits! These
that have turned the world upside down are come hither also; Acts 17:6 KJV
