You Wrote Back -
Last week's newsletter,
Intercession, Initiative and Politics got some great emails.
I've posted them on the blog at
You Wrote
Back. All great stuff. Sometime in the future we'll follow up with
what it means to "let your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven."
Make Your Dream Come
True
Why Have a Dream - Most Christians
have been taught in church to identify with the vision of the house or
to make sure all their desires are subservient to the "will of God." The
result of that theological bent was a generation of Christians out of
touch with their own hearts. People come alive spiritually and
motivationally when they look into their own heart's desire and embrace
a personal dream. Our purpose in writing
Releasing Kings
was to lay that theological foundation. We wrote
Desire
to Destiny to help Christians learn how to implement their
dream. It's a big deal! The world needs you "alive" and filled with
vitality and enthusiasm over your personal dream. What's even more
satisfying is that you will only find the whole will of God when you
implement that dream. He was the one that wrote your heart's desires
into your DNA in the first place!
Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to
the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your
righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like
the noonday sun. Ps 37:4-6 NIV
4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans
succeed. 5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will
lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all
your requests. Ps 20:4-5 NIV
When all is said and
done you will find that your dream is your ministry and it will make a
difference in the lives of people and answer two questions, "Who do you
want to help?" and "How do you want to help them?" (from
Dream Builders - next
week's interview.)
Write the Vision - Christians are
hearing this truth and taking action. It's fairly common to get so
excited about the prophetic truth of dreams that we forget the practical
ingredient of wisdom, and shipwreck a few times before we get it right.
Here's the first thing you can do to keep your dream safe from tragedy.
Write it down and break it into several manageable goals you can tackle
and measure over time. Each of those goals probably has a few steps that
can also be written down and implemented one at a time. The business
world calls this process a business plan. It's spiritual to write down
your dream and make adjustments over time as you progress toward
implementation.
Then the LORD replied:
"Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a
herald may run with it. Hab 2:2 NIV
Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you...
Jer 36:2
The LORD said to me, "Take a large scroll and write on it with an
ordinary pen..." Isa 8:1 NIV
Mentors and Partners - The next
step, as you write your dream and list the goals and specific steps to
implement it, is to get help. You're going to find that you personally
will be good ant parts of your dream and weak at other aspects. Once we
hear something from God we're prone to try and do it ourselves, unless
we're short of money and then we're prone to take an offering. In
reality the people who have gone through this process successfully do it
with a team. There are mentors to show us how and partners that add
strengths we don't have. Our job (after the dream is written) is to
network those contacts and find the people God has waiting to help us.
They will be inspired by the dream because God has already written
something on their heart to share it. Those partners might be investors,
board members, contractors, consultants, employees or co-owners. They
all have something in common: 1) their baby leaps when you share your
dream, and 2) what you are doing overlaps with their dream.
Is my dream too big? - Most of the
literature on goal setting guides us toward goals that are measurable
and attainable. Sounds like good advice. However, God isn't limited by
the boundaries of what we can accomplish. See, He is actually one of our
team members! Our fear of failure and embarrassment might preclude us
from a "big dream." However, in the Kingdom, a big dream just means you
need more help. There's no such thing as a dream too big to
accomplish... so dream big and go get the help you need to make it
happen.
Personal
note: I've struggled through my own dreams... trying to
decide if I am an author, world-traveling conference speaker,
rancher, engineer, or pastor (I've successfully eliminated the last
three). I enjoyed writing our books and this newsletter. Our
conferences are a spiritual high - they are totally fun and
rewarding. Seeing lights come on in God's people is
out-of-this-world rewarding. However, writing and speaking aren't
really my life. They are just tools toward the real goal. I believe
it's a reformation that will touch the world. Luther gave us the
priesthood of the believer. We all have access to the presence of
God, thanks to his breakthrough. Now the Lord is inviting us to be
Kings... so that we'll have access to the ministry of God. Imagine
establishing the Kingdom when every believer dreams and embraces the
fullness of their Kingly ministry in the marketplace. Very powerful,
a very big dream, and very possible... with a little help from
friends, we're changing the world one King at a time.
Recommended Reading: At our last
conference in Abbotsford, Maynard came up after one of the sessions and
told me about a book by Steven K Scott entitled
Mentored By a Millionaire. Scott is a Christian with a wonderful
grasp of the things we've talked about in this newsletter... worth
reading if you're interested in this topic.

You're invited into the
vision to release Kings; communicate the message, make the money, and do
the mission.
-
The Message - Our first goal is to
get the Releasing Kings message into the hands of the messengers that
will carry it... do it, preach it, teach it, example it.
-
The Money - The second goal is to
help Kings break out of poverty by networking them with practical
opportunities to prosper. We want to introduce them to the right people,
the right opportunity, and the right financial approach.
-
The Mission - Network Kings with
opportunities to mix business and missions. Accomplish the great
commission through the marketplace.
