Kings –Ask and Keep on
Asking
God is moving Kings
from a place of feeling rejected (by both men and God) to a place of
feeling chosen. One of the great ways God is moving men and women from
the discard pile to the starting line-up is through answered prayer.
One camp is
receiving, or about to receive, great breakthroughs and they know it.
Another camp is too discouraged to pray and their heart sounds like
Habakkuk.
2 How long, O LORD, must I
call for help, but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you,
"Violence!" but you do not save?
3 Why do you make me look at
injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong?
Destruction and violence are
before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.
4 Therefore the law is
paralyzed, and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the
righteous, so that justice is perverted. Hab 1:2-4
Here is the Lord’s
answer that we can sense in our hearts for this hour.
"Look at the nations and
watch - and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in
your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. Hab 1:5
Another Sign - Although I’m prone to
miss the little things that God does to remind us that he is faithful,
I’m trying to get better at watching for his cues. This weekend our
youngest son, Ben (20), was home. We’re empty nesters so it always good
to have kids show up. He stayed up all night to leave for a cattle
roundup at 3AM. We got home late in the afternoon and he took a nap. I
went in to wake him for no really good reason. I noticed sweat on his
forehead while he was sleeping and just watched him for a moment. The
area above his brow was sprinkled with tiny, sparkling, golden specs. My
first thought was that he must be wearing some kind of new make-up that
he wasn’t telling me about… my second thought was that it had rubbed off
from some girl he was dating… third thought (we’re not all that speedy
around here) was that it was an angelic “dusting” and the Lord was
showing me another sign. Ben’s in marketing in Seattle and plans to go
to UNLV this fall. The next morning I went in again to wake him (and
check for the gold dust). This time all was normal so when he woke up I
shared what I’d seen the afternoon before and simply prayed - declaring
God’s prosperity, generosity and ministry on his life. He’s not up on
the gold dust thing – and I’m not either for that matter. But, I am
fully expecting to be utterly amazed by the goodness of God.
It's Here! - When we Kings take the
time to prophetically hear the voice of God we’ll always move from
Habakkuk 1:2-4 to verse 5. Now the consequence of being aware of the
magnitude of God’s plan… his choosing and election on our lives… the
open door to prosperity… and the opportunity to convert money into
ministry… it’s all pretty exciting. Even if our ship hasn’t come in
(literally) I’m still seeing something in the Spirit that my heart can’t
deny and I can’t help but be excited… and I experience another verse
from Habakkuk:
Yet I will wait patiently…
17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the
vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, 18
yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Hab 3:16-18
Why joy on the inside when there is no
answer on the outside? Faith doesn’t just believe. It’s the prophetic
assurance that the answer is there. We possess the “substance” of
something that is about to materialize and we have “evidence” of
something we can’t see (Heb 11:1). It thrills our hearts and gives us a
logical and spiritual basis to keep on asking. I have to discipline
myself to “ask” because the reality of the nearness of the answer is so
close it feels like it’s already here.
7 "Ask and it will be given
to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to
you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to
him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 "Which of you, if his son
asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish,
will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know
how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your
Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matt 7:7-11
…so ask! Ask for your heart’s
desire. And, ask for the manifestation of what God has already shown
that belongs to you.
And, if you’ve already
asked, ask again.
Blessings,
John & Harold

Harold and I have
both been hesitant to "market" this book... sounds self-serving. Here's
the "grassroots" reality. God has given us a great tool to communicate
a message that sets people free in an amazing, contagious, life-changing
way. If you haven't read it - get it. If you have read it - give it.
