I will give you that which
is your own
Yesterday I was
preparing for our trip to the Netherlands by watching “March Madness”
(American Basketball). Illinois (36-1) was playing Arizona (30-7). For
whatever reason, I was rooting for the favored team with the best
record. However with 4 minutes to go they were behind by 15 and I was
about to turn it off. Their coach (Bruce Weber) pulled them together
and told them to look into his eyes. He said, “We’ve come too far,
worked too hard, and lifted too many weights getting ready for this to
quit. Win or lose I want to leave everything on the court and give me 4
minutes of hard work.” Here’s the quote from the paper the next day,
“Illinois made a jaw-dropping final push for the Final Four with a rally
that was as electrifying as it was improbable. ‘Just amazing’ Illinois
coach Bruce Weber said.”
The psychology of
sports is really just an interesting study of the human spirit. What
caught my eye at the end of that overtime game was one of the Illinois
players was celebrating in front of the cameras by pointing to his
tennis shoes which were clearly inscribed with a verse (Isa 40:10) he
written on them before the game. I thought it was very prophetic.
9 I took you from the ends
of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You
are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. 10 So
do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your
God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my
righteous right hand. Isa 41:9-10
Feeling Behind?
Many Kings are
feeling "behind" right now. Although their lives represent a winning
season, they feel the promise of their heart’s desire is beyond their
reach with the game nearly over. The Holy Spirit is “coaching” them with
these words, “I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not
fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you and help you.”
More specifically,
the Lord is saying to Kings right now, “I
will give you that which is your own.” Many that have
been faithful in that which belongs to another are now being given their
“own” (Lu 16:10-12). If you put your antenna up, you can feel the
promotion of the Lord on Kings in this season. Kings are being entrusted
with responsibility, wealth, new opportunities, new ministry in the
marketplace, and many doors are beginning to swing open. It’s not a time
to draw back – it’s a season to faithfully sow into your vision and
maintain a level of expectancy that will fuel your intercession.
Majoring on Life
Herein lies the
message of Easter and the redemptive theme of the entire Bible. Kings
have a handle on the major theme of scripture; resurrection, life,
breakthrough, triumph. We all go through seasons in the wilderness;
loss, discipline, suffering, darkness. But, those seasons are the minor
emphasis of scripture. For too long our theology has majored on the
minor themes of God’s dealings. God is the primary proponent of life…
the thief is the primary source of loss and darkness.
25 Jesus said to her, "I am
the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even
though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never
die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26
10 The thief comes only to
steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and
have it to the full. John 10:10
Christians are often
more comfortable with testimonies of trials and suffering bearing their
cross. God has a different plan. Here's how your life is scripted.
"Another one of
God's mighty men of valor made a jaw-dropping final push for the
Kingdom with a rally that was as electrifying as it was improbable.
A great cloud of witnesses danced in the streets of Heaven and gave
glory to God as they recounted this amazing victory by one of God's
chosen."
...much closer to
reality and much more theologically correct. Men and women in the power
of God's Spirit get it done. We're destined to do "greater works."
15 And he found a new
jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a
thousand men therewith. Judg 15:15 KJV

PS: We're in the
Netherlands this week!
We're really excited
about a series of meetings on releasing Kings in the Netherlands this
week. We are sensing a great release and a strategic open door to Europe
for this marketplace ministry message. If the Lord is prompting you to
support this event in prayer, we've posted a detailed itinerary on the
web (upcoming
events).
I believe we are
about to ride a wave of release. In the coming season there will be
great joy in the camp of God's people over
Kings - In a season of
prayer and fasting
In the last couple of
newsletters we shared a
prophetic call to prayer. Your email responses are so instructive that I created
a special web page, "You
Wrote Back" to share them. Thanks - feel free to email us.

A Teacher's Guide
We've completed the
first version of a study guide that targets those teaching the material
in Releasing Kings. It includes a page of notes on each chapter, all
the graphics suitable to make overheads, and a PDF file of the book with
the key points highlighted that includes marginal notes, comments, and
questions. This material is available for purchase on the
teacher's guide page of the web.

Friends Tell Friends
Harold and I have
both been hesitant to "market" this book... sounds self-serving. Here's
the "grassroots" reality. God has given us a great tool to communicate
a message that sets people free in an amazing, contagious, life-changing
way. If you haven't read it - get it. If you have read it - give it.

We've gotten a ton of
positive feedback on the newsletter too... get it, give it.

look at the free reports - show your pastor the article on marketplace
ministry from the pastor's perspective. You can simply email him this
link or print a copy to give him.
