Kings - In a season of
prayer and fasting
In the last couple of
newsletters we shared a
prophetic call to prayer. You're email responses are so instructive that I created
a special web page, "You
Wrote Back" to share them. Thanks - feel free to email us.
Initiative is Precious
Most of western
Christianity has preached a gospel that quenches initiative. We’ve all
heard about the dangers of carnal appetites, presumption, and dead
works. We’ve all experienced them too… all part of growing up in the
wilderness. However, we really do mature to place where sin is no
longer our first concern. We find a place of doing what we and God both
enjoy!
One of our
main messages
is that there really is a place where the desires of your heart overlap
the will of God in an exciting way. In fact, the “will of God” is more
open than we have understood. "What we want to do" plays a factor in
walking with God and determining our role in the bigger scheme of God's
plan. No - the details are not all predestined and scripted! God
is blessed by interactive “friends” more than obedient robots that pride
themselves on being in neutral. God is looking for people that have the
courage to look into their heart's desire and find the will of God.
That is the definition of holiness. You cannot successfully live out
your relationship with Jesus “refraining” from and ignoring your heart’s
desires. You’ll eventually give up. Besides, its no fun.
Here’s the good news
of the gospel. It includes resurrection life and it releases your heart
to explore the things God created it for. Your heart and person were
created in God’s own image – you're good! Your life in Christ begins
when you allow yourself to pursue your real heart’s desires. Ps 37:4
(Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your
heart) could read, “when God gives you the desire of your heart, you’ll
be delighted in him." That’s what Ps 103 and John 16 says:
who satisfies your desires
with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Ps
103:5
Hitherto have ye asked
nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be
full. John 16:24 KJV
God wants to bless
the work of your hands… and he wants you to play a role in determining
what that is. What do you want to do?
When his master saw that the
LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything
he did… Gen 39:3
…the LORD was with Joseph
and gave him success in whatever he did.
Gen 39:23
The LORD your God has
blessed you in all the work of your hands. Deut 2:7
For the LORD your God will
bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and
your joy will be complete. Deut 16:15
The LORD will open the
heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in
season and to bless all the work of your hands. Deut 28:12
Then the LORD your God will
make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the
fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of
your land. Deut 30:9
Whatever he does prospers.
Ps 1:3
In everything that he
undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law
and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And
so he prospered. 2 Chron 31:21
10 Whatever your hand finds
to do, do it with all your might... Eccl 9:10
Get the message?
God isn't just blessing the work of His own hands. He's blessing
the work of your hands too. Make the most of every opportunity!
"Wake up, O sleeper, rise
from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." 15 Be very careful,
then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of
every opportunity… Eph 5:14-16
Kings, Missions, and
Industry
We usually think of
missions as tent meetings for salvation messages and building churches
for native pastors. Kings add a dynamic that allows people to become
self-supporting financially and have the self respect that goes with
learning how to work. One of our goals is to help people network with
business opportunities in third world countries. Hope For the
Nations targets children at risk. They are beginning to start
self-supporting businesses called micro industry. I thought the
examples of things they’ve already done were instructive. You can read
more details on the link.
Micro Industry
Examples (http://www.hopeforthenations.com/content/Archives.phtml):
-
Indonesia –
rice paddy and fish pond
-
Kenya –
Sowing Shop, well drilling, irrigation and farming
-
Liberia –
health care, schools, farming
-
Russia –
Pasta factory, bakery
-
Thailand –
garden farms, fish ponds, livestock
Here’s the principle
– in addition to “giving,” teach them how to fish. Many of you have
business skills and businesses that are transferable. “Dream” about
planting your business or technology in another culture the same way
pastors dream about planting churches. Teach people how to buy income
generating assets so their society can take care of their own children.
Dreaming, ingenuity, and that entrepreneurial (I’m willing to take a
risk) attitude are the Godly traits that made America a beacon of
freedom and missions support around the world. Here's a description of
your "life after missions."
11
Whoever heard me spoke well of me, and those who saw me commended
me,
12
because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless
who had none to assist him.
13 The
man who was dying blessed me; I made the widow's heart sing.
14 I
put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my
turban.
15 I
was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame.
16 I
was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.
17 I broke the fangs of the
wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth.
Job 29:11-17
If you have an
additional examples of "Kingly Missions" drop us a note and we'll post
it on the blog. We want to help Kings network with opportunities
to make a difference.
Blessings,
John & Harold

We've completed the
first round of interviews with Kings. These are real people that have
been blessed by God in the Market Place and have hearts for ministry.
Check it out at
http://www.releasing-kings.com/Interviewing-Kings.html. If you have
a success story, we'd like to post it by giving you a web page on our
site.
Progress -
A Teacher's Guide
We've completed the
first version of a study guide that targets those teaching the material
in Releasing Kings. It includes a page of notes on each chapter, all
the graphics suitable to make overheads, and a PDF file of the book with
the key points highlighted that includes marginal notes, comments, and
questions. This material is available for purchase on the
teacher's guide page of the web.

Friends Tell Friends
Harold and I have
both been hesitant to "market" this book... sounds self-serving. Here's
the "grassroots" reality. God has given us a great tool to communicate
a message that sets people free in an amazing, contagious, life-changing
way. If you haven't read it - get it. If you have read it - give it.

We've gotten a ton of
positive feedback on the newsletter too... get it, give it.
Reloading Seniors was powerful. Pass the link on.

PS: don't forget to
look at the free reports - show your pastor the article on marketplace
ministry from the pastor's perspective. You can simply email him this
link or print a copy to give him.
