Winds of prosperity are
blowing - Stories of prosperity are coming in. It's great to
anticipate it prophetically (which is also happening). But, I especially
enjoy the experience of God's movement in tangible ways. Increase is
coming to those that have sowed and they are beginning to see the
harvest. The Father's heart is longing to extend this anointing for
increase throughout the Body of Christ. The Lord is preparing us us for
great influence to bless the nations. Here are a few suggestions on how
you can ride this same wave.
Sowing in Adversity
- This biggest mistake Christians make in preparing to experience
prosperity is "not preparing." If you want to have increase you have to
sow... an investment, a business, real estate, an invention... something
that God can multiply. The school of thought farthest off base is that
somehow the wealth of the wicked will magically be transferred into the
pockets of blissful believers just waiting for this end time miracle
(spelled slothful). HELLO - you'll be waiting a long time for that one.
Prosperity comes as a result of work and wisdom. If you do nothing
that's a great indication of your expected harvest.
Once we turn the corner, see the big picture, and
starting sowing in something that will increase then the fun starts...
so does the adversity. We have the authority to easily defeat whatever
the enemy can throw at us but knowing and doing are two different
things. Here's the general promise of our power over problems that
arise.
The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be
defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but
flee from you in seven Deut 28:7
I will
bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and
all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." Gen 12:3 NIV
The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as
bold as a lion. Prov 28:1
Listen to Ps 126 - the emotion of sowing through
adversity and returning in joy with a great harvest.
Restore our fortunes, O
LORD, like streams in the Negev. 5 Those who sow in tears will reap
with songs of joy. 6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him. Ps 126:4-6
Adversaries -
There are times when your adversity will take on a specific name and
face in the form of lawsuits, extortion, theft, etc. When that happens
we don't want to get out the voodoo dolls and pins. However, we don't
want to to roll over and passively turn the other cheek in every case
either. It takes a specific leading from the Holy Spirit and we
shouldn't be too prescriptive with fitting one verse to every
circumstance.
The first thing to realize is the spirit behind the
person. There is always a possibility the human adversary might get
saved and forgiven... just like we were. They are just the messenger and
the real problem is behind the scenes resisting your commitment to build
the Kingdom.
For our
struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done
everything, to stand. Eph 6:11-13 NIV
With that caution, we also need to be aware that
Paul gave us an example of dealing with a personal adversary through
prayer. We see the same kind of prayer in David's life especially in the
Psalms. Neither were afraid to appeal to the Lord to break off an attack
- both the spirit and the person.
Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will
repay him for what he has done. You too should be on your guard
against him, because he strongly opposed our message. 2 Tim 4:14-15,
2 Tim
Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to
Satan to be taught not to blaspheme. 1 Tim 1:20 NIV
Paul's thorn in the flesh was apparently a person.
Yet, when he made an appeal to the Lord to remove it the answer to his
prayer was "my grace is sufficient." (2 Cor 12:7-10) Paul also
encountered preachers operating out of selfish ambition trying to stir
up trouble. Paul concluded it really didn't matter in the bigger scheme
of things.
The
former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely,
supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.
18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every
way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And
because of this I rejoice. Phil 1:16-18 NIV
Your Strategy -
Like everything else, spiritual principles start of fail us when we try
to use them outside of specific direction from the Holy Spirit. The real
lesson is the Father revealing his plan to his friends (Jn 15:15). Don't
tolerate adversity. Do get the plan in prayer and cause "it" or "them"
to flee in 7 directions.
There is a great anointing to prosper God's people
available right now. Take up your mantle and inherit your land... even
if you have to kill a few giants in the process. God's making some
omelets and He's looking for warriors that aren't afraid to break some
eggs.
Life is an adventure. People are a blessing.
God is amazing. We're winning.
