A Study Group
- Many people are involved in Bible study groups to Release Kings.
Here are some helpful suggestions

You're invited to Vancouver, WA! -
Howard
Ferris is offering a training in miracles and healing associated
with sharing the gospel. He's a great example of a King. Since he's
a civil engineer that has led 70,000 Muslims to Christ, I'm
interested in what he has to say.
Here's the brochure and the details are below. Howard and Leslie
see the Lord healing, doing miracles, and raising the dead in their
presentation of the gospel.
On April 26 from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm at Faith
Center Church in Vancouver, there will be a seminar on how to
present the gospel with miracles, signs and wonders. Lunch is
provided. Please RSVP with # of people attending to
howardfer@netzero.net or (360) 225-6351. This seminar will equip
every believer with the knowledge and confidence that God will work
miracles through them when winning the lost. Jesus said “Unless they
see signs and wonders, they will not believe”. If Jesus needed signs
and wonders for people to believe his message, then so do we. The
seminar is free, donations accepted, but it will cost you your life
as you now know it. The church location and phone number is 2533 NE
Andresen Rd Vancouver, Wa. (360) 253-2484
What's Different?
- When I planted our first church I made no distinction between the
church and the Kingdom. I reasoned that planting a local church was the
best way to expand the Kingdom and expand the Church. That logically
left me a belief system that understood all ministry should come out of
and be under the covering of some local church.
Now I understand the local church to be God's means
of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. Once equipped we
should expect our saints to go out into the Kingdom and make a
difference (like Howard). That doesn't mean they leave the church. It
does change a few priorities. Howard is a great example of Kingdom
theology. He's not on a church staff and finances his own ministry
trips. He is not sent by any church... he just "goes." Sound familiar?
He said
to them, "Go" into all the world and preach the good news to
all creation. Mark 16:15 NIV
As you can imagine Howard's financial priority and
his investment strategies are motivated by future ministry in places
like Pakistan.
The Balance -
Howard's example is refreshing and inspiring. Does it mean we should all
abandon the local church, forget about buildings, and avoid paid staff?
I'm prayerful that our message will spawn another wave of revival
instead of another wave of imbalance. I believe we can have more than
one model for a local church. Scripturally we must acknowledge the new
testament presence of deacons and elders. We must also acknowledge the
need to support them financially.
The
elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of
double honor , especially those whose work is preaching and
teaching. 18 For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it
is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages." 1
Tim 5:17-18 NIV
The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the
one who teaches him. Gal 6:6 NASU
Could the leaders of some expressions of a local
church forgo support from giving or tithing? Certainly! Just as others
could decide to use tithes and offerings to support a staff and build
facilities. Paul was on both sides of that fence. Should we stand on one
side and throw rocks at the other? - I hope not!
My real point is that if your own ministry isn't at
Howard's level, get involved in supporting a ministry that is making a
difference. If we belong to and are fed by a local church, it seems
obvious we should support its ministry with our time and finances. When
our vision to make a difference in the marketplace gets mature enough to
"go" then we can reassess where our time and finances belong.
Marketplace Ministry
is a great new concept to release Kings and see God's people make a
difference in the earth. Let's not use the release of Kings as a logic
to abandon the local church. We still need to equip disciples. We still
need 5-fold ministries in the context of a local church to mature the
saints. Make sense?
What's the real need? ...not more debates on the
theology of the local church. We really need to multiply the word and
the signs that follow and we need to multiply finances so we can convert
money into ministry.
