He's also got another book coming out in November entitled God Is A Capitalist. Both are easy reading and very worthwhile. To Him That Has (Pt 2) I want to Prosper - Here's another reason why (See Part 1). You don't have to have wealth to go to Heaven; after all, you can't take it with you. However, your lack of finances and generosity in this life may prevent someone else from hearing the gospel, being blessed or getting saved. (Concept from Supernatural Business by Mike Floyd - recommended reading) That's part of the purpose of prosperity; you can turn money into ministry! The second reason God wants you to prosper is simply because he loves His kids. Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2  NASU Learning to multiply - The key to multiplying finances or spiritual / Biblical truth is simply this, "What have you done with what you've already got?" When we learn to multiply the very little we do have God adds to our talents and minas. Our natural instincts want to complain when God gives more to someone who already has. We think like communists and socialists! The underlying assumption is that people with wealth are corrupt and would never use their abundance for ministry. However, the government would!!! "Then he said to those standing by, 'Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.' 25 "'Sir,' they said, 'he already has ten!'  26 "He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away. Luke 19:24-26 NIV 10 Cities - The Lord takes this principle of multiplication even farther in the Parable of the Minas (Lu 19:11-27). As we are faithful in little things and in natural things (like our "little finances") God is free to multiply our finances in a brand new way. In this parable each servant was given 10 minas to multiply. The servants were rewarded with "cities" according to their ability to multiply finances. Hear this: "ministry is given to those that can multiply finances." "'Fine!' the king exclaimed. 'You are a good man. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, and as your reward, you shall be governor of ten cities.' Luke 10:17 TLB Now that shouldn't be too surprising from a practical standpoint. Ministry costs money. The Christian stereotype of giving all your money and possessions away to follow Jesus is really part of our poverty mentality. We can't worship or serve money, however it is a necessary and spiritual tool to accomplish ministry. As I grow in the Lord, I'm learning to respect the spiritual maturity of believers that know how to multiply finances. Gifts of the Spirit - When we first learned about gifts of the Spirit we used language that said a person had the gift of healing or prophecy. As we matured we realized that every believer can be trained to prophecy and heal the sick. All the spiritual gifts are available to any willing vessel that encounters a need. At present, we think of people that are blessed in business or that have wealth as having a special anointing or spiritual gift. They have tapped into a special grace. However, you can tap into it too! Just as Moses wished that all God's people were prophets, I can hear the Spirit of God yearning that all God's people would prosper and produce wealth. But Moses replied, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD's people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!"      Num 11:29 NIV The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.   John 10:10 KJV But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth , and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. Deut 8:18 NIV How can it happen for me? - This is a good question. It means our heart is open to the possibility. However, it's a little off because in a sense our prosperity has already been paid for. You and I just need to possess what is already ours. Like salvation or healing, our abundance is already in God's will and its provision has been made on the cross. The biggest hurdle is realizing that God is not the author of poverty. He's the jail breaker!
